Never Stop Investing in YOU!

Well it's the end of the week i.e. Friday here in NZ and i thought I would send an email to let you in on the haps here at EHP Fitness Studio.

*****************************
EHP Fitness Studio
is turning 1yr old!!
*****************************
March is nearing an end and come April 14th 2009 I would have been in my studio for 1 YEAR!! So I'm saying out loud to all clients (whanau/friends too) EHP is having a 1st birthday bash!!
Dates on this will be confirmed but it's looking like Friday April 24th, so pencil it in your calender.. it's party time baby :-)
To make 1yr old has not been an easy road at all....everyday is a learning experience that sometimes I welcome like a budist monk and then sometimes I resist my learning experiences like the plague!!!!
It's quite fitting that I left my part time job 3wks ago just before the Studio's1st birthday!

The most important
investment you can
make is in yourself!
****************************
Warren Buffet stock market Billionaire has said;
"The most important investment you can make is in yourself"

I know we are in a recession of some sorts and services like Personal Training get put on the back burner...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't stop investing in your health and fitness!

Now I'm not saying you should continue to use the services of a Fitness Professional like myself if you are struggling to put food on the table!

However, all this means is you need to find another way to get your goals and stay invested in YOU!

Here is a video of a workout that my partner Tracey, Mum and I did on Wednesday which was Day 3 of our 30day Fitness, Fat Loss Challenge.

You will see a full body workout with Body weight ONLY from a Nana (i.e. My mum), Tracey who is 6wks post giving birth to our daughter Maaia and me who had a friggin man cold.

That means you see all levels of "making it happen" with NOTHING more then BODY WEIGHT and a desire to change!

That means, if munney is an issue for you, I have provided a workout to burn the phat right off your body that will cost you 15mins in time 4x per week!

What inspired me to write this was the fact I have just brought today;

How to win and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

A product from Ryan Lee & Mike Rousell = How to run a continuity newsletter

ValSlide

I don't NEED these things, however, I see them as an "investment" into me and the direction I want to go in life!

So no matter your situation that is "special" to you, NEVER EVER stop investing in yourself, even though sometimes you just can't be bothered!!

15% of the year GONE on my birthdya...

Just a quick update to let you know that 15% of the year is gone TODAY (25/2/09), that's right 15% is out the door never to be seen again except in your memory that you have stored away for safe keeping!

Interesting isn't it when you look at 2009 as 15% gone or 55days out of 365 you will never see again EVER!

So tell me please, How are you going with the goals you have for this year?

If you wanted to lose body fat and or weight, are you on track?
Let me put it to you this way; "how" much have you lost and "how" much have you got to go to hit your target?

If your goal was more money.
Are you on track? Again let's put it in "black" or "white" terms of, How much have you got so far and how much to go before you hit your target?

Maybe your goal is more peace & happiness in times where every one is doom and gloom?
You get the picture; How much happier and peaceful are you & how far to go before you hit your target?

Be truthful with yourself and do your best to answer them. For me I can honestly answer from the above 2 out of 3 I'm on track! However to provide more details I would have to sit down and measure against the 'start' to 'now'!

Regardless of where you are at i.e. "on" track or "off" track with your goals. I would love for you to just reflect on the last 15% of the year and see where you "were" and where you are "now".

Some things are Measurable and some things are NOT! Measure the things that society measures i.e body fat, $$ in account, materialistic things for peace and happiness, because while I don't agree with it entirely (does has it's place though!), without a doubt it is MEASURABLE!

Once you have done the "surface" measuring, then look deeper to the "journey" of the last 15% of the year to things like;
  • What have you learn't about trying to achieve _____ so far and has it impacted on your life positively or negatively?
  • What has losing more body fat taught you about you as a human being?
  • What has having (or losing) more money taught you about yourself so far?
  • How has being more peaceful and happy (or not) taught you about your life so far?
This is deep stuff, however it's truthful stuff that people don't talk about enough or if they do, it's a bit "fluffy" and tends to have no foundation.

The take home message today is 15% of the year is gone, some day so will you!! What will you leave behind, both in terms of external/possessional things and the words people use to express "who" you are to them.

Make it happen with what ever you choose to do, Go visit one of the things that I'm going to do on my bucket list! This particular 'goal' some days feels like I can reach it tomorrow with so much ease that it feels like I'm floating and other days I think, oh my friggin god this is just stupid, why, why, why!!

Today (25/2/09) is my birthday, I'm 31 and still rocking! My mum left a message on my phone singing me happy birthday, kool ahe. Yeah I thought so too, it made me laugh when I was a bit peeed off :-)

Gospel by Geoff Thompson

I burrowed this form Geoff Thompson his book Watch My Back, has just came into movie called Clubbed. Part of my goal for 2009 is to Embrace my Fears and this below is right up there with "living"!!!

Gospel

When you smoke your cigarettes – even if you think they don’t see – you are teaching the kids to smoke cigarettes.

Do not doubt me on this. It is fact. And your lesson is an assault; it is an abuse on young bodies, malleable minds.

You can sit all night long reading bedtime-health-law from tome or bible or tablet but it will not compensate because your gospel is what you do and not what you say. Words without action will simply bounce off the windscreen of young consciousness.

It is how you live that counts.

When you deal in deception – even if you think the kids don’t see you deal in deception – when you fiddle your taxes, when you buy your bent gear (when you steal, in other words) when you lie (even when you white lie) and when you fail to tell the truth (which is simply another way of dealing in lies) you teach your kids the art of deception.

Do not doubt me on this. It is fact. And your lesson is disabling, it is a virus on the hard drive of soft young minds.

You can evangelise until the second coming about honesty and integrity and about doing the right thing, you can quote from holy scroll and preach from church pulpit but your words will be vaporised by the acid of wrong action because your gospel is what you do and not what you say.

Words without action are impotent, the masturbation of the masses that practice not what they preach.
It is how you live that counts.

When you are violent – even if you think the kids do not see you dealing in violence – you are schooling the kids in the art of violence.

Do not doubt me on this. It is fact. And your tutorial is an abomination, a savage, slashing impression left in the psyche of young minds. Violence is a demon intent that employs thoughts, looks, words as well as deeds as its weapons of war. And you can wank off all day long, condemning the school bully, the street hoody and the government warmongers and the wrongs they inflict upon the world but none of it will even reach young minds, and none of it will instruct because your gospel is always, always, always what you do and never (never, never) what you say. Because words without action are like wheels without traction.

It is how you live that counts.

Teaching children is easy enough in principle, but very hard to place into action. If you want them to live a clean life, live a clean and splendid life yourself. Everything else is the folly of foolish and ignorant denial.

As Saint Francis said, we should all preach the gospel, and if we really need to, we should use words.

So why not preach an amazing gospel, why not live clean, be honest, eschew violent ways and achieve your own very best potential by living the dream you dare to tell them they can live. That way you need not even open your mouth to prophesise, because one solitary inspirational action will speak louder that a library of good advice.

Be well.
Geoff Thompson.
